Love it! Love it! Love it!

I am both an Artist and Art Teacher in a K-8 public school out here in Arizona. I do TONS of clay work with my kids! I even wrote a grant last year and recieved five pottery wheels---yeah, pottery wheels in an elementary school...that's unheard of! But, each class does clay projects and I have a "Clay Club" that meets twice a week. I would love to spotlight your work...and base some lesson plans after it.

Could you be so awesome and email me at dirtyfootprints@yahoo.com. I'd love to know if you have another website, or could you be so awesome to email me some images I might be able to print out and show the class, with your permission, of course.

I just love the way you carve and your simple lines and patterns---perfect!!

Peace & Love.Conniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03445908859005616046noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13277408.post-22714746241865527152008-06-25T12:34:00.000-04:002008-06-25T12:34:00.000-04:00Thanks Anne,Your encouragement means a lot! I have been a bit nervous about them for many reasons but especially because they are so quirky.....
But they are what I am really inspired about so I am going to keep going.

Un D,
You can get matte glazes but a lot of the time they are not as transparent as I would like them to be. On the other hand sometimes that works out and makes the piece a little softer...I'll have to experiment!

LeanneLeanne Piziohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06906128505167788108noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13277408.post-14247975217544020822008-06-25T11:05:00.000-04:002008-06-25T11:05:00.000-04:00You continue to astound me with not only how many ...You continue to astound me with not only how many works you produce, but how beautiful, interesting, quirky, thought-provoking they are.

Thanks so much for sharing these!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13277408.post-44316724231880869202008-06-24T15:52:00.000-04:002008-06-24T15:52:00.000-04:00Oh wow, I didn't see the top one last time! I just wonder because I thought things had to be glazed to protect them, but I'm not always keen on a shiny finish either.Undauntedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11600222853782999884noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13277408.post-41339819843104495912008-06-24T15:31:00.000-04:002008-06-24T15:31:00.000-04:00Thanks Un D,I did glaze them and they are shiny bu...Thanks Un D,
I did glaze them and they are shiny but it didn't come across in the picture.
I think the next time I carve a sculpture I am going to fire them without a glaze. The glaze sometimes causes too much glare and the details get lost.
LeanneLeanne Piziohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06906128505167788108noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13277408.post-46537668797936449702008-06-24T09:09:00.000-04:002008-06-24T09:09:00.000-04:00These look great! They don't look shiny in the photograph so I just wondered.

I can't wait to see your tutorials. Don't put yourself under too much pressure though.Undauntedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11600222853782999884noreply@blogger.com
