there are monsters in your head screaming for all they are worth, making you feel damaged and strange? Well, this week especially, I have a couple of resident monsters and they are having a heyday laughing and talking about all my little insecurities and gigantic failures. Instead of crawling into bed with a book and sadness, I made a couple of sculptures trying to get it into clay how it might look in my dreary head. Here are the first ones.

This is fantastic! I think art for therapy often produces some of the best pieces. I can't wait to see the others.
Thanks Un D!
I think making the pieces really helped me feel better. At least I could laugh at the monsters once they were in clay.
you know how you use to smash the stuff you didn't like? i kinda feel that way about the heads w/monsters ... for example: perhaps if you smashed one, the monsters would be set free or would recognize who's in charge and run away?
of course, this is coming from someone that has her own crew of beasties in the head ;)
Hmmmm...maybe a little smashing is in order. But if they run away what if they attach themselves to some poor unsuspecting soul out there? I'll have to think about maybe a trap of some kind.
I'm seeing a new sculpture already! little monsters in a cage.
and the saga continues....
That's a great idea! Can't wait to see it!
