Someone took my guerilla crochet tree warmer down. I took my best friend Steph to see it today. We had a great walk in the park laughing and talking until....we passed the tree and it was empty. The only thing left was the green yarn that I had used to stitch the crochet on to the tree.
Tomorrow another one goes up.

*gasp* Oh no!
Let's hope its because they loved it so much they wanted to take it home :)
oh POOP!
YES, put another one up and photograph that one and share it. Someone may have taken it down, but it still exists on the web for others to enjoy.
Uh oh! I think someone liked it so much that they had to take it home. You should put another one up though, and maybe put in a camera as well! ;)
Some people.... glad to hear you are going back to put another guerilla knit on the tree!
Maybe you should do a little grouping of three, make a statement!!!
oh, leanne! well, maybe they'll put it somewhere near where they live, or.... but still... xo
I admire your fortitude!!!
"""take my crocheting, would ya?!!! I'll show you!!!
oh and I like the whole plan below of making all the bottles.. what a great way to stretch yourself.. and I will really enjoy seeing the subtle changes that happen to each one...
That's the nature of "guerilla art" and the risk you take. Why, I would've been tempted to walk away with the colorful knit myself. Reminds me of an incident when I was very young. I cam home from a neighborhood ramble with a toy someone had left behind in a wooded lot. My mother said I should've left it there, that some child was now crying over a lost toy. It hit me like a revelation--I never thought of it from that point of view.
Someone was thinking, "Finders, keepers."
Thanks for stopping by my blog! Glad you liked the rings.
Thanks everyone for commiserating on the crochet! I still am making the new one for more Guerilla art in Oak Ridge!
Can't wait to put some colorful yarn art on an unsuspecting bike rack.
Ahh..
Yes I heard it was taken..
I am keen to hear how you feel about it. Are you sad? or ok?
Putting it up is an experience, seeing it there is an experience and having it go is an experience..like life I suppose.
I only hope someone wanted it more than you...
I'm so sad that it was taken, and so proud of you for doing another. You go sister!
Oh man! Who would do that. A cold thief I guess. Or a thief with a cold tree. Absolutely, put another up.
sorry if the dissapearance caught you off guard ... grrl shared & I told her I'd like to believe it was a papa squirrel that came and snatched it to present to his squirrel wife, so she can stay snuggly warm while waiting for the babes to arrive. Also many of us were able to / thrilled to have seen it before it vanished.
cheers for a knit up WELL DONE! ~M~
Oh noooo! In a way you can feel flattered. Someone really wanted that tree warmer.
Queen Crafty is very quiet. I hope she's doing ok.
